When Diesel and Deelite called me up
and asked me to review so called
³'scene-music'¹ on Amiga, I thought it
sound interesting because I had heard
about the scene; although I didn't
know what it was all about. They
gave me some songs(hrm, quite a lot
of them, actually!) to listen at, and
I was really stunned by the musical
quality of only four channels and 8
bit samples at low rates. It's hard
to grade the songs individual, since
I am not a member of the so called
scene. It's hard to say that a
certain musician, or song, is better
than the other. I decided to leave
the grades out, because I find it
impossible to judge music in that
way. Some musicians had a general
better class, and I must say that
there were songs that I didn't think
were possible to do with such simple
mediums. I have tried to write as
easy as possible, because I don't
think everybody is interested in
musical terms. The musicians judged
maybe think that it would have been
more interesting if I'd used a more
technical language, but technical
terms can easily be misunderstood
even by the musician himself.
Anyway, I hope you will find my
opinion worth reading!
